The First Lady was born on January 31, 1954.
In 1978, she graduated from Yerevan Medical Institute’s Sanitary-Hygienic Medicine Department. She worked at Nagorno Karabakh’s sanitary-epidemiological station first as a doctor-bacteriologist and then as a doctor-epidemiologist. She occupied the post of the deputy chief physician of the regional sanitary-epidemiological station. In the last years of her work at the station (1991-1993), Mrs. Kocharian headed a department at the station.
Bella Kocharian currently does not work. She is actively engaged in public activities. Mrs. Bella Kocharian is the Honorary President of the All-Armenian Bone Marrow Transplant Donors Register. She is also the Honorary President of the Armenian Branch of Vladimir Spivakov’s “Talented Children of Armenia” international benevolent fund.
