Born July 1, 1950, in Haghartsin village, near Dilijan.
In 1972 he graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, majoring in electronics.
In 1972-1980, he worked at "Agat" Research Institute, as a senior engineer. In 1980-82, he was group leader at National Nuclear Plant Research Institute.
In 1982-1998, he worked at the computer center of the Ministry of Trade and Industry as a chief of department, deputy director, then, director. In 1998-1999, he was executive director of InfoFile jsc; in 1999-2000, he was deputy director of Directorate for standards, metrology and certification at the RA Government.
Since November 16, 2000, he has been a member of the parliament from the proportional party ticket of "Unity" Alliance. He is a member of standing parliamentary commission for monetary, budget and economic issues. He is a member of "Unity" Alliance, a member of RPA Board.
On May 25, 2003, he was elected to the parliament from the proportional party ticket of the RPA, then, appointed to be deputy minister of trade and economic development.
Married, two children.
