Georgy Yakulov is a Soviet Armenian painter, specialist of the theory of arts, social figure.
Having not finished studies at the Lazarian Seminary, he entered Moscow Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. He has participated in many of the exhibitions, organized by Russian different art groups. To study modern trends in fine arts he moved to Europe, written articles. His major goal was to compare the cultures of East and West.
After the Bolshevik Revolution his scale of activities became larger. He has worked with talented directors; V. Meyerhold, A. Tairov, R. Simonov, A. Burjalyan, ahs worked on the scene design of S. Prokofyev's "Steel Jump", performed by Sergey Dyagilev's Ballet Group in 1927 in Paris.
He was in familiar relations with V. Mayakovsky, P. Picasso, S. Yesenin, M. Saryan, Al. Tamanyan, A. Jivelegov, A. Shirvanzade and K. Halabyan.
His works are exhibited in Paris, Armenia, Tretyakov State galleries and Bakhrushin Theater Museum.
