Levon Poghosyan was born on February 13, 1955 in Yerevan.
Mr. Poghosyan graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1977. He is an engineer-electrician. He is a corresponding member of the RA Engineering Academy. He was awarded an Ananya Shirakatsi Medal in 2001.
From 1977-1990 he was an engineer and later became head of division in Signal CJSC under the Hrazdan Industrial Complex. From 1990-1994 he was the director of Selena Planning Bureau. For the next nine years he was the general director of Mshak CJSC.
On May 25, 2003 he was elected to the NA from the proportional list of the United Labor Party and he is currently on the NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Affairs. He is a member of boththe United Labor Party Faction and party.
Mr. Poghosyan is married and has two children.
